About Bill Friedrich

My name is Bill Friedrich, and I write both fiction and non-fiction books with outdoor themes.  I live in Michigan with my wife Linda and a Golden-Newfie-Poo dog named Lexy, whose primary mission is terrorizing the squirrel and bunny populations around our neighborhood.

Before writing my first book, I worked many different jobs, like swabbing the decks on great lakes freighters, working for an indy-car auto racing team, running our family’s lumber company, and Controller/Head Bean Counter at several different financial firms.  (I had to get at least some use out of the MBA I picked up following undergrad).  I ended up working for a Fortune 100 tech company as a global sales executive, which was kinda weird for a guy who always pledged he’d never work in sales.  I can’t dispute my wife’s assertion she married a guy who can’t hold a job.

While my business career took me into many corporate boardrooms, I’ve always felt most alive in nature, hiking the trails, fishing the streams, and visiting faraway places.  It’s not surprising that these outdoor experiences serve as inspiration for my books.

Enjoy your visit, and consider picking up a copy of a book to read on your next adventure.
