My name is Bill Friedrich, and I write both fiction and non-fiction books with outdoor themes. My passion for the outdoors has led me to many unique experiences, such as cage diving for great white sharks off the coast of South Africa, hunting caribou in Quebec, Halibut fishing in Alaska, whitewater rafting down the Grand Canyon, walking with elephants in Botswana, canoeing in Minnesota’s boundary waters, and trekking in New Zealand. 

I wrote my first two books (That Hunting Camp & Dad, The Camp is on Fire) while trapped at home during the COVID shutdown.  These two non-fiction works feature stories and tall tales from our 3rd generation deer camp in Northern Michigan, a fixture in our family for over 80 years. 

The outpouring of positive reviews and feedback from those first books inspired me to write a mystery fiction series featuring Jeff Koehler, a Michigan wildlife photographer who embarks on adventures filled with action, mystery, and suspense.  Add in a bit of humor and even romance, and it’s easy to see why this series will become one of your favorites.  The first three books in the Jeff Koehler Mystery Series will be released in the second half of 2023.
